Kindermusik Village
for the 3-18 month old with caregiver

 

In a Kindermusik Village class, we take those special bonding moments between you and your baby and add in a unique blend of musical learning activities that stimulate and engage all of the senses. Your educator will teach you how to encourage your baby’s learning through vocal play, object exploration, instruments, and creative movement.

Kindermusik Our Time
for the 18 month to 3 year old with caregiver

 

Kindermusik Our Time encourages your child to be creative, to initiate their own ideas and to respond in their own ways, while your active participation gives them the security they need. As you play instruments, sing, move, and explore, you’ll uncover an engaging musical world while building your child’s confidence, self-control and communications skills.

Kindermusik Imagine That
for the 3 to 5 year old

 

Kindermusik’s Imagine That! uses the power of music to tap into your preschooler’s creative spirit and boundless energy and focuses on developing their learning strengths and self-confidence so they’ll be ready for school, prepared for future music lessons…or able to leap tall buildings. Child participates independently for the first 30 minutes and parent joins them for the last 15 minutes of class

Kindermusik for the Young Child
for the 5 to 7 year old

This program is designed to prepare the young child who is eager for first experiences with musical symbols and instrument discovery but is not yet ready for formal lessons and traditional music reading with an instrument. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to attend the last 10-15 minutes of class.  Taught by Carolyn Glaub.

Monthly Art Show

The Center of Music and Art is pleased to announce four new artists taking part in the monthly art show. The center is showcasing artwork from local artists each month, and is making the artwork available for purchase. Frank S. Aleksiejczyk is an aspiring fashion designer and 2010 graduate of Indian Creek High School. His paintings utilize a variety of mediums including pencil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastel. Artist David Corona uses a unique technique incorporating spray paint and newspaper with no brushes to create his paintings. Judy Call is an amateur oil and watercolor artist who has been painting a variety of subjects for over 10 years. She has studied with a variety of artists including Joy Wilson and Margaret Muhleman. Robert Edmonston is a self-made artist specializing in scenic artwork. He has been painting as a hobby for over 60 years, starting with watercolors before moving on to acrylics. The current show will run through August 28th and is open to the public for free viewing during regular business hours. Portrait Workshop

Tuesday September 14th from 6:00- 8:00PM, you are invited to attend a free live public demonstration as Deborah creates the portrait from a life size bust of a nobleman.

Wednesday September 15th, 5:00 - 8:00 PM  Color Theory $85 - Explore and Identify how an understanding of Color Theory can be used to find Continuity of Color and cohesiveness in your artwork.

Thursday thru Saturday, September 16th - 18th from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM  $235 - In this drawing and painting workshop the first day you will learn to draw by studying an old masters drawing and reproducing it in a method that will give you greater control and ability.  The next two days you will have an opportunity to draw and paint a sculpture using this method. 

This workshop promises to be very popular so register early to ensure you won't miss this wonderful opportunity!

 
Bob Ross Painting Workshop

9:30am-2:00 pm
July 17th and 31st
Ages: 18+
Cost: $40.00 plus materials.


Bob Ross instructor Larry King will be teaching “wet on wet” oil painting.  During the class, you will be working on a landscape painting, which will be completed and yours to take.

Adult Drawing Class
Mondays 11:00 am to 12:00 pm      
Starts Sept. 13th      Ages 16+
Cost: $40 per month

Have you always wanted to learn how to draw? Even if you can’t draw a stick figure, come and learn the basic drawing skills, perspective, shading, and techniques so you can create your own masterpieces. Seniors will also enjoy this class. It’s time to try something you always wanted to do.
