![]() Founded on the philosophy that each person is a creative entity and can learn to use his or her creative resources to build a life that is richer, fuller and more productive in all ways, the Center of Music and Art prides itself on bringing a 'good beginning' to students of all ages. Carolyn Glaub, Director of CMA, said the center has students ranging from age three months to 88 years of age. "We offer a good beginning for students of all ages," she said. "A good beginning never ends, no matter what age you start." In 2009, Kindermusik International made its mark at CMA. Kindermusik is the world's leading publisher of music and movement curricula for children ages three months to seven years. Each week in class, students play, listen and dance to music that will impact them in profound ways through its creative curriculum. According to Glaub, these classes are taught by certified trainers and are offered through a variety of classes including Kindermusik for the young child, Kindermusik Village, Kindermusik Our Time, and Kindermusik Imagine That. CMA also offers lessons in a variety of instruments including piano, guitar, drums, organ and woodwind. "Most classes offer both private and group lessons," Glaub said. The center offers music and art classes year round as well as theatre classes in the summer. Upcoming events at CMA include an art show in March and a Colored Pencil Workshop in April. Glaub made it a point to say that people of all ages have the ability to learn a new talent. "Everyone can learn, at any age," she said. "You don't have to have a natural talent to be involved. Everyone can learn something new and improve." For more information or to learn more about classes, call the center at 264-3111 |
