The Center of Music and Art iis pleased to announce four new artists taking part in the monthly art show. The center is showcasing artwork from local artists each month, and is making the artwork available for purchase. Featured artists for the month of July are: Tempy Moore, graphite pencil artist; Carrie Mitchell, realistic oil paint artist; Michael Kemp, digital media artist; and Jim Watson, realistic artist in various mediums. The current show will run through July 24th and is open to the public for free viewing during regular business hours. Portrait Workshop with Artist
Deborah Ankrom Kepes  Tuesday September 14th from 6:00- 8:00PM, you are invited to attend a free live public demonstration as Deborah creates the portrait from a life size bust of a nobleman.
Wednesday September 15th, 5:00 - 8:00 PM Color Theory $85 - Explore and Identify how an understanding of Color Theory can be used to find Continuity of Color and cohesiveness in your artwork.
Thursday thru Saturday, September 16th - 18th from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM $235 - In this drawing and painting workshop the first day you will learn to draw by studying an old masters drawing and reproducing it in a method that will give you greater control and ability. The next two days you will have an opportunity to draw and paint a sculpture using this method. This workshop promises to be very popular so register early to ensure you won't miss this wonderful opportunity! |

Ongoing Class
Cost $40 per month This ongoing course focuses on creating effective dialog, character development, descriptive settings and solid plot lines for short stories and longer works of fiction and non-fiction writers. Writers create numerous works exploring each facet of story writing, and share their efforts in weekly roundtables. Each writer’s work is fine-tuned with the goal of submitting the finished piece to national writing contests. Taught by Teresa Shaw. |
